This project is about the blind people.

The idea of this project comes from my trip to Montreal while Jazz festival. I was walking in the main street that I saw a blind couple singing. The girl had an average height and she was dancing and singing. The man also was singing sadly and

sometimes he drank a McDonald Coca-Cola.

I had a feeling that what they sang doesn’t have any meaning but it is still gloomy. I felt they are one of us but in a world beyond our understandings. That made me take more than 150 photos from them while singing and dancing.

They were just like a mirror in front of me that I could see myself in it.

This work is made of 8 images with size of 100 x 130 cm on the papers with the weight of 600gr.

The making process:

The images are transferred from the photos to the papers by a chemical solvent. These images are pale and white space is the majority of the work. In each image there is a text written by Braille alphabet which just blind people have the right to touch the texts. The texts in different images are related to each other but they also have their own meaning in each of the images.

In this project two blind person and not blind people will be invited. Only the blind people can touch the images to read the text written by Braille method. The texts will be a secret for not blind ones who can’t read Braille writing and so they should ask the blind people to know about the text. Therefore they should ask the blind people for help which is usually inverse,or not they are obligated to decode texte them self.

In a summer day a blind couple shared their feelings from their world with me and made me share my feelings with the blind people by this work.

There are braille writings in the original works which are invisible in these images.
